Barcelona to Host Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized an open training session inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
