The children's author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The author

Best-selling writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions towards young women.

The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
